Mesothelioma is a cancer believed to be exclusively caused by asbestos exposure. While researchers have yet to find a cure for it, palliative treatments have been able to ease discomfort and slow the progression of the disease, allowing patients to live longer after diagnosis. The most common treatments are radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery.
